Contest Instructions
The Pennsylvania Association for Sonographers (PAS) is excited to offer a Student Scholarship Design Fundraiser Opportunity for sonography students across Pennsylvania.
Eligible students are invited to submit an original merchandise design focused on ultrasound/sonography. The top five selected designs will be featured on PAS fundraiser merchandise. The scholarship award will be based on the profit generated from merchandise sales, with the highest-earning design receiving the award toward tuition. You must use your school email address when applying.
Eligibility
- Open to students currently enrolled in and actively taking classes within a sonography program located in Pennsylvania
- Student must be currently participating in sonography coursework at the time of submission
- Submissions must be emailed to pasonline@sonopa.org, using your school email address.
Design Requirements
- Design must be original student-created artwork
- Theme must focus on ultrasound/sonography
- May be:
- General sonography
- Modality-specific (OB/GYN, vascular, cardiac, breast, MSK, etc.)
- Sonography student life
- Patient care
- Professional pride
- Design should be suitable for merchandise such as:
- T-shirts
- Hoodies
- Tote bags
- Stickers
- Other PAS fundraiser items
- Preferred file formats:
- PNG
- SVG
- Transparent background is preferred when possible
Selection & Fundraiser Process
- PAS Board members will review all eligible submissions
- The top five student designs will be selected. If multiple submissions are received from the same school, the Board will first choose one top design from that school for consideration. Board members who are employed by a school with submitted designs will not participate in voting on entries from that school.
- All 5 finalist designs will be used for PAS merchandise sales
- The scholarship award will be determined based on the profit generated from total merchandise sales
- The design with the highest total profit will receive the scholarship
Scholarship Award
- The scholarship amount will be equal to the total profit generated from the winning design’s merchandise sales
- Funds will be awarded toward the student’s tuition expenses
- Payment may be issued directly to the educational institution if required
- Scholarship will be awarded no later than September 20, 2026
Student Agreement
By submitting a design, the student:
- Confirms the work is original
- Confirms they are currently enrolled in and taking sonography classes
- Grants PAS permission to use the design for merchandise fundraising purposes
- Acknowledges that the scholarship award is based on profit generated from merchandise sales.
